JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.
Here are two of them.
This solid white American Staffordshire/Boxer mix is Lincoln. He is a 1-year-old dog and came in as a stray. He has unique heart shaped markings on his nose.
Lincoln does well with most other dogs but he is very afraid of unknown humans. He will tremble, shake or retreat to the back of his kennel until he feels comfortable. A calm household with an experienced handler would be the best home for Lincoln.
Marvel is a male black and white tuxedo cat. Besides his beautiful markings, he has the cutest goatee. He is 2-years-old and came in as a stray.
Marvel didn’t know what to think about everything at the shelter and he was initially quite shy. Now, he is with other cat friends, hanging out most of the time in his cat condo.
A meet-and-greet with a dog is mandatory. A cat room walk-through is available to test reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchip and sterilization.
Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccines and spay/neutering.
Visiting the shelter is always best, but other adoption resources include online applications at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animals, faxing 517-780-4750 or emailing [email protected]
