A new fitness trend is taking over planes and travellers are outraged… – The Sun

A NEW fitness trend is coming to flights – but not everyone is a fan.

Peloton has teamed up with Delta Airlines to launch fitness classes in the skies, through the in-flight entertainment screens.

The fitness company, known for their exercise bikes, has created the new classes.

Five stretching and meditation classes have been designed exclusively for Delta and is the first time Peloton’s classes are available to stream outside of its app.

Ranging from five to 20 minutes, passengers will be able to perform the exercise from their seats.

Some fitness fans called it “genius”, while another said “very cool partnership.”

However, most people didn’t agree with the idea of exercising in a packed flight.

One person said: “I don’t hate the idea but I just don’t see the execution working.”

Others were even less fussed, with them calling it “so dumb”.

Another added: “Can’t wait to be jammed between the window and the flailing elbows of some fool doing a stretching class in a tiny airline seat.”

Someone else agreed: “Yes that’s what we want on airplanes people doing yoga in the aisles, damn sure ain’t enough room in the seats to do anything.”

One person wrote: “I hope I don’t get an elbow to the head with one of these stretches.”

Another person said on social media: “The aisle about to be a war zone.”

It isn’t the first time a passenger has tried to do some exercise on a plane.

One man made the bizarre decision to do a personal workout during a flight using his own gym equipment he took onto the plane, spotted pumping his arms and chest while standing in the aisle of the cabin.

And a pair of fitness fanatics were shamed for performing yoga at the back of a plane.

Planes could even have gyms onboard – the change could all be down to one company called Transpose, who have launched the idea of a new plane gym.

In partnership with Reebok, the company revealed their prototype of a “flying gym” at Mineta San Jose International Airport in Silicon Valley, California in 2017.
