Lala Vie Oil in Lotion Concentrate ($60)
“In Japan, many brands have launched face oils as ‘boosters,’ which are meant to be used after cleansing and before toner, or ‘lotion’ as we call it there,” says Hinako Sugioka, marketing and product development expert for Shikō Beauty Collective. “This is a more concentrated version of the brand’s popular Lala Vie Oil in Lotion formula, and works as a booster, an oil, a lotion, a serum and a moisturizer in one. And because it’s an oil, it also helps to soften the skin, and the softer the skin, the better it can absorb key ingredients like Inca omega oil, camelina sativa seed oil and golden chamomile extract.” Sugioka also raves about the texture: “Despite the high oil content, it’s silky-smooth and not sticky at all.” And though it’s brand-new to the U.S., the unique formula has already won several beauty awards in Japan.
